 Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Kibale National Park 

On the first day of the 5-day Uganda Chimpanzee Tracking Safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala and transferred to Kibale National Park. The drive to Kibale takes approximately 4-5 hours and offers scenic views of the Ugandan countryside. 

You will arrive at your lodge in the park in time for lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to your surroundings. Kibale National Park is one of the most important conservation areas in East Africa and is home to a large population of chimpanzees, as well as other primate species, such as red colobus monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and blue monkeys. 

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

 The highlight of your trip, chimpanzee trekking, takes place on the second day. After an early breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for a briefing on the trek. Chimpanzee trekking involves hiking through the jungle in search of the habituated chimpanzee groups. 

The trek can take anywhere from a few hours to the whole day, depending on where the chimpanzees are located. Once you find them, you will have the opportunity to observe them for one hour, as per regulations set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

After the trek, you will return to your lodge for the evening. Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Evening Game Drive After breakfast on the third day, you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is approximately a 3-hour drive from Kibale. 

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and have lunch. In the evening, you will embark on a game drive through the park, giving you the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, and more. 

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel 

On the fourth day, you will have an early morning game drive followed by a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel connects Lakes Edward and George and is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including hippos, elephants, and a variety of bird species. 

During the boat cruise, you will have the opportunity to observe these animals and learn about their habits and behaviors from a knowledgeable guide. 

Day 5: Explore Lake Katwe and Transfer Back to Kampala
