Day 6 of the 9 Days Uganda Wildlife Safaris Tour: to Bwindi
Depart QENP sometime in the mid-morning for the Ishasha sector should the roads permit. Ishasha is home to the world-famous tree-climbing lions however, the roads there are heavily affected during the rainy season. It is not known why these wild cats climb trees but it’s assumed that they do so to nap off their meal considering it’s cooler among the tree branches.
Enjoy a picnic lunch close to the DRC border before later proceeding to Bwindi where you are expected to arrive at your lodge in the early evening.
Day 7: “Gorilla in the Mist”
Today is the big day, transfer to the gorilla tracking information office after breakfast for a pre-briefing. Later a park ranger will lead you into the forest tracking these great relatives of ours (Mountain gorillas); the rainforest is dense and is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas as they interact with each other is a memorable one. After this day’s gorgeous adventure, you will return for lunch (if not parked). Relax and freshen up at your lodge and later depending on your interest, transfer for a short community walk to see these local people’s way of life and cultures or just relax at your lodge the rest of the day.

Head northeast after breakfast, departing Bwindi for the city. Your journey allows you an en-route lunch break at Igongo Cultural Center before proceeding to arrive in Kampala / Entebbe.

The early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains was spectacular! We spotted elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and even a pride of lions lounging in the golden savannah. Our guide’s sharp eye helped us track a leopard resting in the trees, making for a thrilling sight.
