Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Day 2 begins with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading towards Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania's hidden gems. The drive, approximately two hours long, offers a scenic journey through the heart of Tanzania’s landscape, with glimpses of local life and the stunning countryside. Upon arrival at Tarangire, you'll be greeted by the iconic baobab trees and the park's vast savannah, teeming with wildlife. Spend the day exploring the park, known for its large elephant herds and diverse bird species. Tarangire also boasts other wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. As you traverse the park, the Tarangire River becomes a focal point, attracting animals for its water, especially during the dry season. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. Continue your game drives in the afternoon, with opportunities to capture stunning photographs and witness the raw beauty of the African wilderness. As the day ends, head to your lodge or campsite within or near the park, where you can relax and reflect on the day's adventures under the African stars.

Day 1: Departure from Kampala to Arusha, Tanzania

Day 1 begins with the departure from Kampala, the bustling capital of Uganda, heading towards Arusha, a picturesque city in Tanzania. The journey, approximately 16 hours by car, takes travelers through diverse and breathtaking landscapes, including verdant hills, expansive plains, and charming villages. The route also crosses the border between Uganda and Tanzania, offering a glimpse into the cultures and lifestyles of both countries. As you approach Arusha, the scenery gradually changes, revealing views of the majestic Mount Meru and, on a clear day, the renowned Kilimanjaro in the distance. Arriving in Arusha by late afternoon marks the end of a long but fascinating journey, setting the stage for exciting adventures ahead.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara National Park

Day 3 begins with a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, offering one last chance to witness its incredible wildlife and landscapes. After breakfast, you’ll depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a journey of about two hours through Tanzania’s scenic countryside.

Upon arrival at Lake Manyara National Park, you’ll be struck by its diverse ecosystems, ranging from dense woodlands to grassy floodplains and the expansive lake itself. This park is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior among big cats, and its large flocks of flamingos that create a pink hue over the lake.

Spend the day exploring the park’s rich biodiversity. Enjoy sightings of elephants, hippos, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. The park’s groundwater forest is a unique habitat that provides a cool, shaded environment, making for a refreshing change from the savannahs.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated spot within the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. In the afternoon, continue your game drives, perhaps spotting the famous tree-climbing lions or observing the playful antics of baboons and monkeys.

As the sun sets, exit the park and head to your lodge or campsite nearby, where you can relax and enjoy dinner. Reflect on the day’s experiences and prepare for the adventures that lie ahead.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National Park

Day 4 begins with a final morning exploration of Lake Manyara National Park. After breakfast, embark on the journey to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, a drive of about four to five hours through the stunning landscapes of Tanzania.

The drive to Serengeti is an adventure in itself, offering views of the Great Rift Valley and passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you might catch glimpses of Maasai villages and herds of livestock, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Arriving at the Serengeti, you’ll be greeted by the vast, endless plains that the park is famous for. After checking in at your lodge or campsite, enjoy lunch and take some time to rest.

In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in the Serengeti. This park is known for its abundant wildlife and the spectacular Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the time of year, you may witness part of this incredible natural phenomenon.

The Serengeti is also home to the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos – as well as cheetahs, hyenas, and a myriad of other species. As the sun sets over the Serengeti, capturing the golden light on the savannah, you’ll return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation. Reflect on the day’s sightings and anticipate more wildlife encounters in the days to come.

Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Morning:

  • Early morning game drives to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
  • Breakfast in the bush.

Afternoon:

  • Return to the lodge for lunch and some leisure time.
  • Optional cultural visit to a Maasai village.

Evening:

  • Evening game drive to explore different areas of the park.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the safari lodge.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

Morning:

  • Breakfast at the lodge.
  • Depart for Ngorongoro Crater with game viewing en route.

Afternoon:

  • Arrive at Ngorongoro Crater.
  • Check-in at the lodge located on the crater rim.
  • Lunch at the lodge.

Evening:

  • Afternoon descent into the crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for its dense animal population and stunning landscapes.
  • Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha and Departure

Morning:

  • Breakfast at the lodge.
  • Optional early morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater.

Afternoon:

  • Depart for Arusha.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant in Arusha.

Evening:

  • Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for the flight back to Kampala.
  • End of the tour.
